Bill Butcher is a pioneer in the world of direct mail and is still developing innovative techniques to help his clients succeed. Kari Butcher has combined direct mail with emails, phone contact programs, radio, television and print advertising to create a comprehensive communications program on behalf of several political and non-profit clients, integrating research and execution to increase yield.

Email and Web-Based Campaigns
Voter email communications is today what direct mail was 30 years ago; it has yet to realize its true potential. Butcher & Butcher operates a database of about 3 million California voter email addresses. These email addresses are good: they have been verified and voters have been offered the opportunity to opt-out of political communications at least three times.
The email addresses are appended to the California voter file, so we can target the email to high propensity voters, Republicans, Democrats, homeowners, men, women and more. Essentially we can slice and dice the data by a hundred different variables.
Butcher & Butcher is currently working with several clients to conduct email fundraising campaigns, petition signature gathering, and creating grass roots voter support for a variety of issues.
Research Management
Butcher & Butcher has created and directed hundreds of surveys, focus groups, mall intercepts, and perception analysis panels in several languages. From banks to charitable foundations, candidates to water companies, we help find the audiences who listen and the messages that work.

Ballot Proposition Qualification (Signature Gathering)
Bill Butcher pioneered the art of collecting petition signature and qualifying ballot measure through direct mail. In comparison to traditional signature gathering, direct mail petition signing is less expensive and it allows an organization to create a house database of supporters. The database can be used for direct mail fundraising, creating grass roots support for an issue, absentee ballot mailers and GOTV.
Campaign Teams
Butcher & Butcher is often asked to head or serve as a member of a team on large projects, usually with a concentration on strategy, research and both persuasive and fundraising direct mail. Butcher & Butcher's partners have led numerous California candidate and ballot initiative campaigns.
